About us

Established in 1969, the Dampfbahn-Verein Zürcher Oberland (DVZO) has operated since 1978 heritage trains on the former tracks of the Uerikon-Bauma-Bahn between Bauma–Bäretswil–Hinwil, whose regular services had ceased in the same year. Since 2000, the DVZO has taken over the ownership of the segment between Bauma and Bäretswil and operates as a fully licensed railway company. All active members of the society, including those carrying out maintenance on rolling stock and permanent way, work on a voluntary basis in their free time, so that you are able to experience the romanticism of rail travel from a bygone age for family-friendly prices.
